This passage of the discourse of Jesus here has been called “a prelude of Gethsemane.”
““I have come to set the earth on fire, and how I wish it were already ablaze with fiery passion for God! But first I must be immersed into the baptism of God’s judgment, and I am consumed with passion as I await its fulfillment.”
Luke 12:49-50 TPT
Thy will be done
Oh My soul is troubled
And sorrowful unto death
I must go to pray
This fear is choking out My breath
Will you pray with Me
In Gethsemane for prayer
Can you watch one hour
Sit here while I go over there
Oh My Father hear My prayer
And if it be Thy Will
I ask that this cup pass;
Crucifixion on Golgotha’s Hill
There isn’t a worse death
Ever known in time
The scourging and the Cross
Salvations price paid for mankind
His sweat became as drops of blood
And to the ground did flow
Because redemption starts
Where the will of God is known
As He prayed He agonized
Is there another way
When He was reminded
While on His knees He prayed
Nevertheless not My will
But Thine be done on earth
For this has been prophesied
From before the time of My birth
Just then an angel from heaven
Appeared and strengthened Him
For He would rise and conquer
And drink this cup, it was The Will of Him
Saying for this reason I was born
And I have come to say
Resurrection power
Came to you this way
And when I rose up, yes I knew
I had already won
The war was fought in a garden
My mind set on things above
satans lies had deceived
In a garden long ago
God redeemed our minds with blood
Giving us back our soul
For I did bleed and agonize
So when you call on Me
You can read and remember
Fight your battle on bended knee
In that garden I redeemed
The ability to win
The war against your minds
To do the will of Him.
Gethsemane, the place of pressing. A garden of redemption. The hard place, decision to follow and obey God’s Will, the place of His extreme agony, the tight place. The reminder of the suzerain/vassal covenant found between Abraham and The Lord, Abraham and Isaac… hearing God will provide…

Clearly the sacrifice is among us and He is agonizing.
Jesus’s familiar place of prayer, the olive grove, going to His safe place to pray, now an internal war zone. The hours spent with The Father, learning of His ways, hearing His voice, carrying out the miracles, teaching, training, showing The Father; certainly knowing this day would soon come. Hadn’t Jesus taught His disciples this would happen? Hadn’t He just proclaimed at Supper, this is My Body broken for you, This cup is the my blood, the New covenant. And now it makes sense. The Lamb, the Bread come down from heaven, the sacrifice on the altar, He bound Himself to the horns of the altar as our pure sinless sacrifice. What love!

Years ago I had a profound revelation, the first place our Savior’s precious blood was shed was in the Garden of Gethsemane. The decision to willingly lay down His life, suffer the worst torture and death ever known, to redeem mankind. It began with a war over His mind and flesh, in a garden, submitting His will to the Will and obedience of The Father…
redeeming what was lost in a garden, Adam and Eve agreeing gave into the flesh, the disobedience, the curse. Yes a war over our carnal desires.
Luke 22:42-45 NKJV
saying, “Father, if it is Your will, take this cup away from Me; nevertheless not My will, but Yours, be done.” Then an angel appeared to Him from heaven, strengthening Him.
“Father, if You are willing, take this cup of agony away from me. But no matter what, Your will must be mine” (Luke 22:42 TPT).
“And being in agony, He prayed more earnestly. Then His sweat became like great drops of blood falling down to the ground.
When He rose up from prayer…
When Jesus rose up off the ground He purpose was secure, with singleness of heart the decision was made. He had already seen His resurrection. He rose up from prayer and truly RISES UP, becoming our RISEN LORD. The next time He would rise from the dead. The resurrection power of God Almighty would do exactly as He said!
If you haven’t submitted your will and life to The Father, it’s not too late. Jesus paid our price. What is easy never lasts, what lasts didn’t come easy. Our Savior payed the price of our sin. Lay it all at the Cross. You will never regret this decision.
God bless you and keep you and make His face shine upon you and be gracious to you. The Lord cause His countenance to rise upon you and give you Shalom!
Until next time, thank you for listening with me. Laurette
