It was prophetic, it was profound and yes, powerful.
This Is The Lord’s Passover! Chag Sameach!
Let’s stop for a moment, revisit; can you imagine the noise, the bustling, and the rustling about? Was Moses hurrying about with the leaders? Were they anxiously checking, making certain everyone was prepared? What was the scene leading up to the climatic Exodus? Were they filled with adrenaline, the blood pumping through their veins as their hearts were beating wildly with anticipation? Dressed and ready as instructed; believing, no, knowing full well after the previous months events, God was going to send the death angel throughout the land as He told Moses.
Commanded do not come out of their houses during the night. The smell of the blood of sacrificed lambs permeated the air, blood applied to the top and sides of the doorframe with hyssop, the smell now covered by the enticing aroma of roasted lamb filling the land, but who would be hungry, they couldn’t possibly be hungry?
Yet instructed to kill the lamb, take some of the blood, roast it and eat it all. The remembrance of the innocent lamb. None was to be left. If the house couldn’t eat “all” of the lamb the remainder had to be taken out and burned.
Or was there a Holy Hush? Was the smoke from the roasting of the lambs a sign likened to the glory that filled the land? We are told not even the bark of a dog would be heard in the camp of the Israelites. God said then you will know that I make a distinction between Egypt and Israel. (Exodus 11).
Yes, it was both. The physical body responding to e amazing events unfolding, but the Spirit of God covering and protecting His people brought a Holy Hush over their hearts for this amazing Exit, the EXODUS we still hold dear to our hearts.
When leaving the life of bondage or sin we do not find a casual, calm, lackadaisical approach we may not be surrounded by human comforts but we know in Whom we have believed. Leaving requires all your heart, strength, mind and soul…wait haven’t we heard this before? (Deuteronomy 6) (Mark 12) oh yes, now we see and remember.
Reverence, trust obedience and love, following and obeying God’s directions was how the power of God operated in and through the Israelites, with many signs and wonders. It was prophetic, it was profound and yes, powerful. This is how they were able to be delivered. They did not escape, they were led out and set free to go into the wilderness to worship, delivered with a destination, the promise of the Promise Land.
Purpose-Provision-Promise-The Power of God! The Egyptians were warned repeatedly. Not all made it into the Promise Land.
It is the same today. We overcome by the blood of the Lamb and the word of our testimony. If Jesus isn’t your testimony you are not really free. The Lamb God has provided is Christ.

This is The Lord’s Passover
Hurry get ready
we’re leaving in haste
The Lord God I Am
Said no time to waste
I Am that I Am
Has sent me to say
The time for deliverance
Does start today
We shall eat it in haste
With our sandals latched
For this is “The Lords Passover”
Gird up our loins, ready our staff
Each family to choose
A Lamb for his household
Without spot or blemish
marked sign on the threshold
deliverance does not come
From any Other
Than Jehovah Jireh
And this we will discover
The blood is covenant and a sign
on lintels and doorpost applied
no other offering can you supply
A spotless lamb required
This is a sign for us to see
With hyssop the blood we apply
When God sends judgement on Egypt
He will at Passover pass by
“On this night as I pass through
I will see and know the sign
That you have listened and obeyed
And by sacrifice you are Mine.”
“I Am taking My people out
Just as I swore on oath
Into the land that I have promised
From Ramses to Succoth.”
When our children inquire and ask
About this memorial
We’ll tell them how The Lord struck Egypt
Making known to them this tutorial
We were once slaves and prisoners
trapped by sin in Egypt’s land
I Am that I Am, brought us up and out;
Rescued by His Righteous Right hand
Jehovah Jireh has provided
the mystery now made known
Given for us, His sacrifice
Is Jesus Christ, His very own!

Exodus 12:11-13 NASV
…11Now you shall eat it in this manner: with your loins girded, your sandals on your feet, and your staff in your hand; and you shall eat it in haste– it is the LORD’S Passover. 12For I will go through the land of Egypt on that night, and will strike down all the firstborn in the landof Egypt, both man and beast; and against allthe gods of Egypt I will execute judgments– I am the LORD. 13The blood shall be a sign for you on the houses where you live; and when I see the blood I will pass over you, and no plague will befall you to destroy you when I strike the land of Egypt.…
Exodus 12:23-24, 26-27 AMP
For the LORD will pass through to strike the Egyptians; and when He sees the blood on the lintel [above the entry way] and on the two doorposts, the LORD will pass over the door and will not allow the destroyer to come into your houses to slay you. You shall observe this event [concerning Passover] as an ordinance for you and for your children forever.
When your children say to you, ‘What does this service mean to you?’ you shall say, ‘It is the sacrifice of the LORD’S Passover, for He passed over the houses of the Israelites in Egypt when He struck the Egyptians, but spared our houses.’” And the people bowed [their heads] low and worshiped [God].

The apostle Paul dealing with sin used the Passover to quicken, remind or awaken them, some 1500 years after the event. Yes they did tell their children and keep accurate details.
“Your glorying is not good. Do you not know that a little leaven leavens the whole lump? Therefore purge out the old leaven, that you may be a new lump, since you truly are unleavened. For indeed Christ, our Passover, was sacrificed for us. Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, nor with the leaven of malice and wickedness, but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.”
I Corinthians 5:6-8 NKJV
Do you relate? Is there a Passover in your life? Do you have a testimony you pass down to your children of when God brought you out?
Happy Passover- Chag Sameach!
